Tarble left his little home in West City in hopes of exploring the planet of its wonderment. Gure was left at home to take care of the place while he went out on his off day to look around. It had been a while since he arrived, and his brother and his friends had defeated the threat that drove him away from his home in the first place. He wandered over a rocky area, dominated by stone pillars--or what used to be pillars, and plateaus. The area was scarred, and badly, as if a great battle had taken place here. Tarble landed on the highest peak, feet tapping the rock lightly with his gentle descent. His tail swayed slowly behind him and he closed his eyes, taking in a slow, deep breath and taking in the sweet, clean air.
It was much nicer out here than it was in the city. It was quiet and serene. The wind had a voice and it was much more malleable with the environment, whereas in the city, it struggled to weave in and out between tightly cramped skyscrapers and skylines. The air was cleaner too, and it wasn't as noisy and busy. Tarble smiled a little, and he looked out over the tragic beauty of the almost western landscape. He couldn't imagine how the sunset here would be, and he shivered at the thought of bringing Gure here with him one night to witness it. She hadn't seen regular sunsets here before, and he was sure it would be a treat for her.
It was almost too nice here, and he didn't want to leave it. Even as the rock below him tittered dangerously on a rather slender pillar, the surface of the rock was smooth with a soft grainy texture, welcoming and docile and teasing his bare toes with minuscule granules of loose dirt and sand as they stuck to his skin. He could tell why Vegeta stayed here, or at least why he would surmise Vegeta would stay here. The inhabitants here were questionable in their moral structure, and were weak at best, but the planet itself was so beautiful and peaceful. Vegeta in reality might not have seen it, but Tarble could.

The battlefield, such as it will always be remembered, hadn't changed all that much. Vegeta found himself returning here often, finding it the best place for him to think and contemplate. Every time he arrived here, in this place, memories of his first utter defeat played before his eyes. He had come so close to beating Goku and the Earthlings, but just couldn't manage it. His comrade Nappa had taken out most of the Earth's defending forces, but when Goku arrived on the scene Nappa became his play thing. Shortly after he executed his underling and the battle of his life began. 'I was so much stronger than you Kakarot, yet you beat me. You and your son and that fat oaf with the sword. Victory was within my grasp but you pulled it away just as I was closing it within my hand.'
Reaching down he picked up a loose rock and clasped it tightly. For a long moment he just stared at it and felt it's worn shape with his fingers as memories of the past continued to run through his mind. They were soon pushed aside however as his grip tightened and the rock within his clutches became dust which fell at the mercy of a light breeze. "If it hadn't been for my failure here I never would have become what I am today." Vegeta looked up at the sky and stared at the blue yonder for a few moments, taking to the sky shortly thereafter and gained enough height to fully take in the landscape. His power fluctuated and a golden aura of Ki began to dance around him as his hair changed to gold and his pupils to green. "I would never say this to you in person, but thank you Kakarot."
Turning around, ready now to head out, he spotted someone standing on the tallest pillar of rocks which populated the entire area. Reaching out with his abilities he sensed it was only his little brother Tarble and so powered down to his normal state and began descending. The wind blew his hair wildly as he moved through the air, but once he landed it stood back into it's original state as though it was held by permanent gel. With arms crossed over his chest he walked up beside his brother, keeping quiet for a minute at least, studying his younger sibling silently. Their childhood was not spent together very much, to say the least, and he never got the chance to really know Tarble. To be honest he wasn't sure if he did now. And he was jealous that Tarble still had his tail to boot. "Enjoying the scenery are we?" he said softly with a smile playing at his lips.

Tarble heard his brother coming. While he didn't sense his energy without the proper training and his scouter having been destroyed by Goku's transformation years earlier, Tarble was at least able to hear him from afar. His tail twirled in anticipation before dropping altogether when Vegeta finally landed behind him. He waited until the elder spoke before officially greeting him. He knew how Vegeta was... He smiled though when he looked back up at his older brother, a pleasant look with low brows and calm eyes.
"Ah, hello, brother. Yes, I suppose I am," he said, eyes trailing back to the formations carved within the earth's surface, "There's nothing quite like this back on... well, you know." He didn't really know how to feel about the planet he practically lived on since being sent away to it as an infant. Those were blurry memories at best, though the pod had taught him well and he was able to escape the cold tyranny of Frieza's overseeing. "How have you been? It's been a while since we've seen each other, hasn't it," he said, looking back at his brother once more.

The Saiya-jin prince stood silently beside his brother, smile fading slightly at Tarble's expression. His younger brother was still one of the great mysteries, and perhaps the last tie to his family and heritage as Goku knew nothing of being a Saiya-jin. Tarble at least had the lessons from his space pod. As he studied his brother, Vegeta couldn't help but see himself when he was younger, the two very identical both in looks and posture. As a mostly private person, socializing wasn't exactly high on his behavioral habits and so there was never much time between the brothers. Perhaps that was the reason for his current hesitation to get to know the young Saiya-jin as much as he should. Not to mention he was still not used to the idea of having a little brother around. At the very least he would consider being pleasant however.
Vegeta only nodded to Tarble's words before speaking with deep thought in his voice, "I don't know if I ever told you, but this was the place where I met my first defeat and where many things were made clear to me. Ironic isn't it, how the Prince of all Saiya-jin's learns more about his race than he ever knew from a low class clown? But if it wasn't for Kakarot, you and I would never have met because this planet would have been destroyed." His gaze left the other to pan over the landscape, scars of that battle from so long ago still plainly evident, serving as a place for Vegeta to reflect on the past when the mood so struck him. Slowly, he let out a heavy breath and turned toward the west, walking to the edge of the rock in which both brothers had perched upon.
Crossing his arms over his chest, his eyes fell upon the site where the battle had ended and he made his escape, his life spared by his once hated enemy. "It has been quite some time, yes, since we last saw one another. You should stop by Capsule Corp. sometime so it isn't so long when next we see each other. I know that Bulma and Trunks would both enjoy a visit. As for me, I'm quite the busy Saiya-jin, more so these days than usual. I have to continue to push my limits so that I am ready for whatever comes. It's actually part of the reason I'm out here in fact," he said softly without turning his head, "As for the question of how I am, I am content and at peace. Everything seems at last right in my life." Turning his head slightly, just enough that his gaze could clearly fall upon Tarble, that smile crept over his lips once more. "What about you brother? Since we're on the subject, how are things going with you and your.... Wife?"

Tarble couldn't stop himself from biting the inside of his lip in a tightened expression when Vegeta continued speaking. He had his head turned, but his eyes slowly removed themselves from his brother's face, putting true meaning to the phrase of lending an ear. Tarble didn't know the true fury that was Frieza and the harshly stinging whip brought upon his henchmen. He only heard what he heard through the scouter's intercom, and finding his brother was a miracle in and of itself. The stories he heard about Frieza were terrifying, and the fact that his brother lived those stories and survived them made Tarble cringe inwardly. His innards froze with anxiety, but he was relieved to hear his brother's words of change and having everything in his life be set on the correct course. When Tarble thought about it, Vegeta could have ended up so much worse than he did.
"I can't say that I'm one-hundred percent familiar with all that you've been through brother, to put you on a path so off-course. But it relieves me to hear that you're at least a little happy now," he said, forcing a smile. Despite not having known his brother for so long, Tarble was pained even just knowing that his brother, his only family, had been through something that he couldn't even imagine, and for such a long period of time. "We have a lot to be thankful for, then. Kakarot seems to have done so much for so many," he said, looking out over the carved landscape. Tarble didn't know much of Kakarot, except that he was a Saiyan and Vegeta's polar opposite. The man intrigued him, but because of the strict rivalry between the two of them, Tarble figured it might have been best to give it some space and allow things to develop on their own time.
The offer of a visit to Capsule Corp brought Tarble from his anxious thoughts and he smiled lightly at his brother, "Sure thing, if they don't mind a visit, I will surely stop by sometime... Gure and I have settled very well here... It's certainly a lot nicer here. I can see why everyone wants to protect this place."

Vegeta suddenly had an annoyed expression on his face and his fists were clenching tightly by his hips, shaking violently as his knuckles cracked. "A path so off course you say?" The calmness in his voice had vanished and he was on the verge of yelling now as he turned back to face Tarble. "What the hell do you know?! Despite having settled down I am no less the warrior and prince that I have always been! How do you honor our people? By being a peace loving weakling! How dare you assume to know what my path is!" His annoyance turned to anger and his power exploded, the column of rock on which they both stood shattered into pebbles and debris that was scattered in all directions while strong gusts of wind blew out from his body and a blue aura of ki encircled him.
Gradually his temper ebbed and faded, the harsh winds died down and his aura slipped away into nothingness. After glaring at Tarble for a few moments and panting heavily, he took in a deep breath and started to relax again. "I don't thank Kakarot for anything," he lied, "He is a low level clown who grew soft from being raised by Earthlings. But at least he is a true warrior, unlike you. The royal blood of our people runs through you as it does me, yet you know nothing of what it means to be a Saiya-jin. Where is your pride?" He growled and felt his temper rising again, but let out a slow breath and turned his head and gazed away from Tarble.
It seemed obvious that Vegeta held contempt and resentment toward his younger brother, if nothing else his outbursts were evidence of that. It would clearly take some time before the proud Saiya-jin would feel otherwise, something the pair of them would have to work on. He crossed his arms over his chest. "I'll let everyone know you're coming when I return to Capsule Corp. Be sure to bring Gure. I wouldn't want to seem rude for not inviting your wife as well. I'll expect you both there this evening. And if you don't show up I'll come and blast you." He cocked his head and turned it just enough so that he could meet Tarble's gaze. The expression on his face would leave no question that he was serious. "I will not suffer bad manners from my own brother, understand?" A smirk crept across his lips, adding a sadistic touch to his expression.

Tarble's whole being tensed with anxiety. He sensed Vegeta's agitation and his blood went cold in his veins with minor anticipation, but he wasn't expecting such an outburst from a man that he'd expect to usually hold a calm disposition. He staggered back from his brother's rage, stomach dropping to his words. They stung and Tarble's expression, mixed with his fright, showed this. When the pillar disintegrated, Tarble stumbled off, forgetting how to release his ki for a split second before regaining himself, tail whipping about behind him to counterbalance the gusts of wind blowing him away. He held his arms up in front of his face, ducking his head down and shutting his eyes tight.
When the eruption slowly died down, Tarble hesitated to bring his cover down with it, for fear of an on-coming attack. He clearly didn't know his brother at all. He remained silent, allowing his brother to blow his steam before Tarble could work up the nerve to speak again. The words about Kakarot at least had him relax a bit, until they turned around and lashed him once more. Tarble had no argument against his words. He knew little of his Saiyan heritage, save for what his pod had told him, and his own personal experiences, most of which he'd prefer to forget. He bit down on the inside of his lip as he endured his brother's verbal onslaught.
He opened his mouth to speak--at least to apologize. Putting up a fight now would be suicide, and Tarble was too cowardly to stand up for himself. Defeat filled the core of his stomach, heavy like a stone. Vegeta's expression certainly scared the color from Tarble's face. His tail drooped behind him, threatening to coil between his legs like a dog's. "...I understand, brother," was all he could manage to say, his voice quiet and still.

Trunks felt his fathers power level surge then lower so he decided to investigate. when he got closer he relealized that it came from where his dad and Goku had their first fight. when he saw who was there he flew closer and said "Hi Tarble!" a million thoughts were flying through Trunks' mind all similar to Why's he back now? or Where was he? but he decided not to ask because that might seem rude and figured someone would ask him sooner or later anyways.

Vegeta could sense the cowardice in his brother and it disgusted him. "Nothing worse than a cowardly Saiya-jin," he said under his breath, suddenly looking rather angry again. He would have lost it, if not for the timely arrival of his son. The presence of his child quelled the rage within him and he suppressed it, and it was a good thing for Tarble too because Vegeta was ready to start throwing punches. His eyes caught Tarble's tail lowering and threatening to tuck between his legs, widening in shock. Memories of what happened to his own tail flashed before his eyes and he growled while clenching his right fist. "How the hell can you be so stupid Tarble?! Have you really no sense at all." He moved behind his brother and grabbed his tail, squeezing it tightly within his iron grip. "You want to lose this? Because you're going the right way about it! Wrap it around your waist, idiot!"
After letting go of his brothers tail he grumbled and moved back out in front of both the others, arms crossed over his chest again. "Honestly, you must be the only Saiya-jin in the universe who still has their tail and you just wave it around like that, begging for someone to come along and remove it. Humph!" It was obvious that he was jealous of Tarble, and his angry words were in fact words of wisdom as his own tail had been removed by an obese man with a sword when he first came to Earth. Much as he despised his brother, he wouldn't let what little true heritage Tarble had be wasted by a tail grabber or cutter.

Tarble wasn't sure why his brother was being so aggressive. He noticed that the man was quite tense, and while their first meeting was a little stressful, he didn't expect his brother to direct such rage at him. Shame filled Tarble's core and his limbs went limp underneath him, including his tail. He truly wasn't up to Vegeta's standards, but he couldn't find it in his heart to break apart his gentle disposition just to please him, or at the very least ease up his apparent disgust for him. Tarble only looked down briefly, cursing himself for not being what his brother wanted.
There was then a sharp stabbing pain running along his vertebrae, his tail having been suddenly grabbed and squeezed. His spine arched and his fur stiffened, puffing out first at the base and gradually raising towards the tip, which now twisted and coiled in response to his brother's grabbing. His hands immediately went to Vegeta's in a pitiful attempt to pry him off, "Ahh! Brother, stop!" Vegeta's release of his tail allowed Tarble to slip away a few feet, hands reaching back to cradle the throbbing limb. He looked up at Vegeta, face plastered with a stricken expression of grief and terror. His tail slowly slunk around his waist, and he worked to try and compose himself. What would drive his brother to harm him like that?
He gave a low shudder before finally allowing himself to address his nephew with a slow nod and a quiet, "...Hello Trunks. You look well."
