Rematch (Vegeta)

[Goku]

It was another bright and sunny day on Earth. Everything was peaceful. The sky was clear, animals were enjoying themselves, and several flocks of birds were flying overhead. Yeah, it was a good day. High up in the sky, Goku was making his way towards the wasteland, stopping to wave at the flocks of birds who squawked in greeting to him. Even animals could sense Goku's calm and gentle nature, and knew that he wouldn't try to hurt them, nor would they in return. However, Goku wasn't here to spend time with birds. No, he was here on business.

The site of another epic battle was coming up...one that had taken place fifteen years ago. "Well here it is! I wonder if Vegeta will actually show... Goku said to himself with a grin on his face. In all honestly, his Saiyan blood was racing with excitement, waiting in anticipation for this fight. It was going to be a good one, both he and Vegeta were Super Saiyan 3's, meaning this fight was going to be truly climatic.

About five minutes later, Goku would descend upon the spot he and Vegeta had fought when Vegeta had allowed Babidi to possess him just to get the strength to defeat him. Not a whole lot had changed in fifteen years. The rubble from that battle was still visible througout the entire wasteland. As he waited for Vegeta, Goku decided to talk a walk and reminisce a little bit. Another smile would form on his face as he walked past the area where Vegeta had ki bound him to a mountain, only for him to pull free and hit the other upside the head with a large slab of mountain. "Hahahaha I bet Vegeta still hates me for that..."

Several more minutes would pass before Goku would fly himself up onto a ledge, a slight breeze blowing through the area causing his hair to whip about slightly as he does so. "Come on Vegeta, I know you can't resist this rematch. In all honesty...neither can I my friend. It seems you and I are destined to fight. Well old friend, I'm waiting for you.." His gaze lingered upon the horizon, patiently waiting for any sign of Vegeta.

[Vegeta]

Vegeta had longed for what seemed an age for a rematch against his close rival. The last battle the two of them fought, the last true contest of the Prince's strength was a lie, his opponent held back his true power. It was going to be different this time for now Vegeta possessed the same level as Goku, a level which he had to strive and fight for, a level in which every fiber of his being had been devoted for many years to obtain. At last, the seemingly endless gap between the two Saiya-jin's had been closed and the battle that was destined to come boiled his blood with anticipation. He would fight Goku, yes, but not out of revenge for the past. He had long since moved beyond that. It was now purely about strength and pride, pride for his station as Prince of the greatest race of warriors. This would be the deciding battle and both he and Goku knew there could be no holding back this time for one to truly claim victory.

It took Vegeta no time at all to arrive at the place where their last great battle had been, the scars of his anger, ignorance and hatred still marked the entire area. It seemed a fitting battlefield for the rematch. He discovered his rival already there and waiting and even more so his blood boiled. He descended swiftly, landing behind Goku with his arms crossed and head tilted slightly downward, a serious expression on his face. "You and I are not friends today Kakarot," he said to announce his presence if Goku couldn't already sense him.

"I'm glad you are Saiya-jin enough to want this battle. Until the events with Majin Buu you seemed to do everything you could to avoid fighting me. You even had the audacity to get yourself killed! Even when we did eventually fight you held back your true power to make me feel like I had some chance at victory, out of pity." Vegeta took his fighting stance. "But I have closed the gap between us at last and nothing in this world will stop what is inevitable." He let his right lip curl into a smirk as his power began to fluctuate and rise, fists clenching tightly in his Saiya-jin gloves. He had donned his old armor just for this occasion. It seemed somehow fitting. "Are you truly prepared Kakarot? I know I am."

[Goku]

A grin formed on Goku's face as he stood there with fists clenched. Vegeta's question had amused him somewhat. "I saw what you did before Broly showed up. I can't ignore testing myself against another Super Saiyan Three. This will be a special fight I can already tell." His Saiyan blood raced and pulsated with excitement from just the pure anticipation of the battle that was about to take place.

A quick glance would be cast toward the other, taking note of his Saiyan armor. "I see you brought out your old armor just for this fight. Must be quite the occasion for you Vegeta. I can tell you're just as excited as I am for this fight." As he finished speaking, a soft breeze blew through the wastelands, sending his hair blowing lightly. "Well Vegeta..guess I'll get started then.." Goku's tone was not the gentle one he usually had. Oh no, this was a fight he was taking very seriously. Ever since Vegeta had become one of them, he had been his rival..well more like since that fateful day they had fought.

We've both come so far...hard to believe all these years have just flown by.. Now was the time for the greatest battle the two of them had ever done. Quickly focusing his ki, a bright flash would erupt throughout the wastelands as he transformed into a Super Saiyan, his aura fluctuating rapidly, pulsating with his power. Sparks flew about occasionally as the ground began to shake with the power as Goku powered up, yelling at the top of his lungs. Several nearby boulders exploded, sending several small rocks flying towards Vegeta as the breeze turned into a powerful gust from the sheer power emanating off of Goku. He was at maximum power now, something he knew Vegeta would appreciate greatly.

A large cloud of dust kicked up from the dirt covered ground as Goku took off at high speed, firing several energy waves towards Vegeta as he drew closer and closer towards his rival, keeping the energy barrage going. Whether they hit or not, he truly didn't care, he wanted to lure Vegeta over toward him. He had something planned, something Vegeta surely wouldn't expect.

[Vegeta]

Vegeta sensed Goku's power fluctuate as he powered up, his expression calm and serious for the first time since his first fight against his rival. For the first time in a long time he felt he could truly close his fingers around victory and clasp it after all these years. As his rival increased in power, so too did he, keeping his fists in position at his sides as he focused and channeled the energy within his body to induce the transformation of legend. His widows peak became more prominent as it turned golden in colour and the debris sent his way by Goku's rise to power shattered against his own. He did not yell, no dramatics today as his energy escalated to match that of his opponent. "I see you require a warm up before the real fight begins. Very well Kakarot, I shall indulge you."

Vegeta stood his ground as his opponent began to charge, his focused mind trying to determine the others strategy while formulating one of his own. The first couple incoming ki blasts were easily deflected and not once did the warrior lose sight of his opponent, a smirk growing on his face. Ignoring the remaining incoming attacks, he raised his arm and held his hand out with his fingers pointing toward the sky and his thumb folded over his palm. "You've left yourself wide open Kakarot!" As Goku got closer and had less time to maneuver Vegeta channeled his energy, a blue orb forming in his hand quickly growing massive before him, disintegrating the ground beneath it, "Big bang attack!" he cried and launched it toward his opponent. It in no way moved slowly, nor was the energy put into it less than excessive despite it's size, as it coursed it's way toward it's intended target.

[Goku]

Goku's eyes widened in surprise as Vegeta's attack hurtled towards him. Having little to nothing else to do except block or vanish, Goku quickly focused his ki and vanished from sight, leaving a slightly more transparent version of himself where he once stood, reappearing near a cluster of boulders as Vegeta's attack sailed through the Afterimage and into a nearby mountain, turning it into pile of dust with sheer ease.

"Vegeta you're aim is terrible. Are you sure you aren't losing your eyesight in your old age?" he taunted from his position. "I mean I was literally right there and you missed." Of course, Goku then silenced himself as his aura flared up about him wildy as he dashed towards Vegeta at top speed, right fist drawn back for a punch. But oh no..Goku was not going to give Vegeta a chance to dodge this one. "SUPER KAIOKEN!!!!" yelled Goku as his golden aura was replaced by a deep crimson one, his strength and speed multiplying greatly as he now moved with tremendous force towards Vegeta, aiming his fist towards his gut as he drew near.

[Vegeta]

Vegeta didn't look even the slightest bit surprised that his attack coursed right into a mountain instead of a Kakarot, senses so in tune with the other, his gaze shifting to where his rival would appear before he even got there. The shockwave of the blast shook the ground beneath him violently even from such a great distance and caused his golden hair to dance wildly about. "Is your weak taunting ability a reflection of your impotence? I mean, where is this great battle you promised me? I did not come out here to play at Gohan's level." It seemed Goku was going to answer with an attack of his own. Vegeta's eyes went wide as he heard the words 'Super Kaioken' and he watched on as the other combined two of his best abilities for a dramatic increase of power.

He remained still as he was charged, looking slightly bemused at this little trick. No effort was made to move or dodge. He wanted to show the fruits of his training. Vegeta took the blow, exhaling on impact and nearly doubled over as he grabbed his gut, the force of which pushed him back several meters, leaving deep trenches in the rock in the wake of his feet. He lifted his head as he stopped himself and started to laugh. "An amusing ability but come on Kakarot, is that honestly all you can muster?" he said with an exasperated breath. It hurt like hell, but Vegeta wasn't going to let that show. He was in top form today. There was a bruise beneath his Saiya-jin armor, a dark welt that would remain for weeks. "If I was one of our sons that blow probably would have ended things. But with all that training I have been doing under intense gravity it was hardly a glancing blow."

Vegeta's power level began to fluctuate and sparks of electricity began to appear in his ki aura. His expression again became a serious one and with no external effort he ascended fully to the next level, Super Saiya-jin 2. "It seems like this fight has already taken place. The only difference now is that I reached this level on my own. What say we continue our warm up where we left off all those years ago Kakarot? Only this time you won't be distracted by Majin Buu." A streak of electricity arced it's way before the warrior and he waited patiently for the other to match his level. This had been a long time coming and he for one was going to enjoy it to the fullest. This was after all what he had dreamed about for so long.

[Goku]

It was incredibly obvious that he was pleased with the results of Vegeta's training..simply by the fact he was still standing after a Super Kaioken. Of course, he too had been training. He was actually able to pull of Super Kaioken in the land of the living...albeit only once now. Hovering slightly in front of his long time rival for just a moment before he flew back a few feet and landed, boots hitting the ground with a soft 'click'.

As his rival transformed, a confident smirk would be sent his way. "Well Vegeta...I must say I'm impressed. But I understand you wanting to skip the warm up. I agree, we do have something to settle after all. And this time, there's nothing going wrong to stop us." Even as he spoke, something in his gut told him he was going to eat those words soon, but for now, he had a fight to finish. As soon as the other ascended to the next level, he too would focus, entire body tensing up before a bright flash of light would emanate througout the area as he too ascended to the next level, sparks flying about randomly across his body.

"Well then Vegeta. I take it this is what you want. Well then..let's get serious." Vanishing from sight using high speed movement, Earth's true greatest hero reappeared in front of his rival, fist drawn back for a punch toward the other's nose before he would launch into his own flurry of punches and kicks. No holding back anymore. This was truly it.

[Vegeta]

"I'll hold you to that Kakarot! If we get interrupted by anything, I will personally rip out your eyes and shove them down your throat so you can see my fist travelling through your gut. Understand me?" A devious smirk played upon the otherwise serious expression of the Saiya-jin Prince as his rival ascended to match his own level. Then the other was gone, or at least so it appeared to normal eyes. But to the trained warrior and a few of his kin, his opponent did not in fact vanish at all, but was simply moving at incredible speed.

He saw every movement Goku made and prepared himself against the incoming opening punch, reaching his hand out to catch the fist that was incoming. In the instant thereafter, his smirk grew if only slightly as his opponent started following up with a flurry of attacks. Vegeta matched accordingly, blocking and deflecting each attack, using every ounce of his speed to match the fury of the onslaught. Each blow that was thrown at him caused him to back up, in order to have room to stop the next one and the one after, which quickly became bothersome. 'He truly is not holding back this time. I can feel it. I've never felt more exhilarated in all my life. Thank you Kakarot for giving me a true battle.'

This was a test for both of them, Vegeta knew, but they both seemed to be perfectly matched and it would take a lucky hit or two from either of them to fully gain the upper hand. He at last saw an opening in his opponents attack and launched a counter of his own, his fist traveling inside of Goku's punch, fist aimed for his rivals lower jaw with all the power his ascended form had to offer behind it. Unfortunately Goku's punch was right on target and it made contact with the side of his face, forcefully pushing his head to the side, spit flying from his mouth.

[Goku]

One could definitely imagine the look of surprise on his face as Vegeta's punch collided at the same time his fist landed upon his cheek, his head turning to the side as spit flew out of his mouth from the impact. Good to see he's taking this seriously. It's been a long time since I've been able to fight like this just for fun...yet be pushed to my limits.. Smirking as he turned his head back so that he could face his rival head on, Earth's protector would vanish from sight yet again, this time reappearing just a few feet away.

"You know what Vegeta, I think we had enough testing each other out in Super Saiyan 2 years ago. So what do you say we just skip the formalities and see who is truly the best in the most powerful form we have. It will be a true test of skill." Whether Vegeta was ready or not, he knew how to get his rival going. Honestly, he was excited for this. "Think about it Vegeta. Two Super Saiyan Three's going at it head to head. It will be a truly special fight."

As he spoke, his aura would begin to flare about him wildly, sparks shooting out constantly as the planet itself began to shake behind the sheer force of power that was being displayed. Every muscle in his body enlarged slightly as veins bulged from his skin. His hair began to slowly fall downward and extend back, growing longer and longer with each passing moment, his loud cry echoing throughout the entire area as his power level spiked dramatically.

Brigher and brighter his aura glowed, his yell intensifying as beads of sweat began to run down his face, eyebrow's vanishing as the very clouds themselves appeared to be drawn towards the warrior, hair growing more and more. His aura now resembled a miniature sun. Finally the moment had come, after a final, powerful yell his aura would explode outward, revealing the form of the man that had frightened Babidi, and even intimidated Buu all those years ago. Yes, in front of Vegeta stood a Super Saiyan 3, pure lightning crackling about his body as even his clothes seemed to radiate with power.

"Come on Vegeta, lets see if you can handle the power of a Super Saiyan 3. Transform and give me everything you've got."

[Vegeta]

A soft laugh came from Vegeta as blows were exchanged, it seemed an amusing little turn of events, one he thought was going to be a constant for a little while yet. But Goku seemed to want to get to the main event rather quickly. There wouldn't be much point in the fight if they didn't go to the maximum, that he knew, but he didn't want to go all out, it simply wasn't his style to power up to the limit almost right off the bat. "That's just like you Kakarot," he said while getting into his stance and concentrating his energy, "Skip right to the main course without sampling the appetizers."

Vegeta already picked up his opponents rising power level. It seemed that the real battle, the one any true warrior dreamed of, one that fully tested you to your limits, was finally about to start. His smirk returned and played once again at his lips as his power escalated to match Goku's. "Very well then, I shall indulge you Kakarot, but you had better not disappoint me." His golden aura burst outward, the ground beneath quaking in fear as both mighty fighters started their final transformations, a large crack forming between them as their powers collided. It was time to see what would happen when an unstoppable force met an immovable object.

With a mighty cry from Vegeta his aura flashed like a strobe light, starting on the slowest setting but gradually becoming faster as the energy needed was gathered and fully concentrated. The two fighters were perfectly matched in their transformation, Vegeta's own aura as bright as the Goku's, the flashes stopping to become a solid overpowering light. Like Goku, his muscles bulged and expanded greatly, his hair began to extend until it reached the small of his back and his forehead became more prominent, eyebrows disappearing completely. He concentrated harder and pushed himself, reaching deep down to let his full power explode. With one final cry he at last reached the final level, flaunting his great power so the ground beneath disintegrated into oblivion leaving only a wide crater several meters deep.

He stood before Goku fully ascended and for the first time he truly stood on even ground. Well, almost. "Before we begin Kakarot, there is something I have to tell you." Though Vegeta smiled there was no humor heard in his voice, only serious concentration. "Do you remember during the days before the Cell Games when you and Gohan remained as Super Saiya-jin's to gain better control over the form? Well I confess I have been doing the same thing with this transformation. It puts a lot of strain on the body, as you are fully aware, so I have been training myself to hold this form as naturally as I do my others."

Vegeta concentrated his ki and narrowed his eyes, getting into his fighting stance while letting out a soft laugh, "I hope you are prepared. I know I am!" With that he rushed Goku at full speed, the ground on which they stood rumbled furiously, and began the opening merciless onslaught of attacks. Goku wanted everything he had, and Vegeta was not one to disappoint. His fists and feet were a blur as he tried to put Goku on the defensive this time, holding nothing back, pushing himself to his full limit right from the start, that smug confidence as evident as ever.

[Goku]

Goku would merely smirk at Vegeta's words about just walking around in Super Saiyan 3. "Glad to hear you've been training in this form too. The strain on my body is practically gone..granted I've had this form for years now." Excitement coursed through his veins, blood racing like wildfire as Vegeta took his fighting stance then charged. He too, would charge towards his opponent, ready to meet him with everything he had.

A furious flurry began to take place, fist meeting fist, knee meeting knee, leg meeting leg as each move of his opponents was blocked, the very planet itself trembling from the sheer power these two possessed. This...this was the fight that both of them had been hoping for. The one that truly pushed their limits. Now of course, he had kept up a good defense for awhile, but one of Vegeta's punches collided with his shoulder, sending him spiralling downward a bit..but luckily for Goku, this fight was far from over.

Quickly he would do a somersault in midair as he recovered, palms touching the nearby rocky surface below him as his body slid. He's really improved. Time to honor his improvement. He couldn't help but smile somewhat as he brought his hands down to his hips, while simultaneously scanning about for Vegeta's energy. As he scanned for his rival, a blue and white orb would appear between his palms, pulsating with sheer power. "KAAAAAA....MEEEEE.....HAAAAAAA...MEEEE...... he started to chant before he locked onto Vegeta's energy and vanished from sight, reappearing directly behind the warrior, a large grin evident on his face.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he yelled proudly as his arms would be brought forward, releasing the Kamehameha Wave at a dangerously close range. The blue and white beam was massive, mainly due to his strength in Super Saiyan Three, and normally Instant Transmission Kamehameha was reserved for enemies only, but he felt Vegeta could handle it.

[Vegeta]

Vegeta grinned as he finally landed a blow after such a long exchange of attacks, one that sent Goku spiraling down. He wasted no time and rushed down after him in pursuit, preparing to start a heavy hitting combo attack. Unfortunately, his opponent quickly recovered and landed rather unscathed. Stopping only a few meters above, he noticed Goku's hands were cupped together and his eyes went wide. "Oh shit!" Vegeta took off to the west and started to ascend high into the air, leaving a long tail of ki behind him which dissipated after a few seconds. Finally high enough in the air he began to channel his energy, placing both hands by his hips.

His eyes went wide as Goku appeared behind him and turned swiftly, bringing his arms up to cover his chest and face in an X, focusing his ki quickly around his body to shield him from the inevitable incoming attack. Gritting his teeth as the attack was unleashed he took the blast wave head on, struggling to push it back or deflect it, but was utterly consumed by it. It burned his body and singed his flesh, pieces of his clothes began to rip and tear but he endured. When he felt the attack was passing he lowered his guard and started to push himself through.

Gradually it became easier to do and at last the beam passed completely over him. Vegeta wasted no time and took the initiative while Goku was still recovering. "Damn you Kakarot!" He charged in, muscles aching terribly, and launched a heavy punch aimed right for Goku's gut. If he managed to hit it would stagger his opponent for a moment, and would swiftly be followed up by three swift punches, one to the chest, another to the gut and one finally to the face. After which he would spin low and try to knock Goku for a loop, then with all his strength he would clasp both hands together, raise them high above his head and slam them down into his opponent sending him shooting hard toward the ground. As Goku would hurtle toward the ground Vegeta would then uleash a devastating flury of high powered ki blasts, and finish his attack by unleashing an old favorite, his Final Flash.

If however he wasn't able to pull that off he would go on the offensive again and the two of them would continue to exchange blows. Neither of them would give either way, not when they were having so much fun.

[Goku]

Vegeta's onslaught indeed hit him, who was honestly surprised by Vegeta's mastery over the Super Saiyan Three form, and hadn't expected him to recover from the Instant Kamehameha that quickly either. As he hurtled towards the ground, Vegeta's Final Flash indeed hit, causing him to cry out in pain as his body impacted the ground harshly, leaving a decent sized crater from the impact.

Deep in the crater, Vegeta's blast had indeed taken its toll, having covered him in cuts that bled slightly, while burn marks covered his arms. His pants were torn, and the upper half of his fighting gi was blown completely to bits, revealing the blue undershirt he often wore. With a powerful yell, the mighty warrior would allow his ki to expand outward, sending several rocks and other debris up into the air before hovered into the air, staring down his rival with a smirk on his face.

"Not bad Vegeta. I have to admit I'm actually impressed by your strength as a Super Saiyan Three. Not even Gotenks could give me this much of a fight. Unfortunately for you I'm about to end this." After he finished speaking, his right fist would be drawn back, preparing for a Dragon Fist when all of a sudden a violet energy surrounded his body, causing him to thrash about, screaming in pain. The sparking golden aura around his body shrank, as his hair reverted through both of the previous forms before returning to black, however this wasn't the end. Both hands would be brought to his head as he continued to cry out, the warrior even going so far as to try and power up to stop it, but here is where something would be noticed

Even his normal aura continued to shrink, and despite the pain, his eyes would widen in horror as he realized what was going on. His power level was dropping, and rapidly. The violet energy soon dissipated, leaving him with only a faint aura surrounding his body. "No..how did this happen?" he asked aloud.
