Full Name: Ryo (Pronounced Ree-o)
Nick names: None
Hair: Spiky, burgundy, partial bangs.
Body type: Lanky
Over all description: Ryo is of average height and weight for a young man. Unlike all his Saiyan counterparts, be them full or half-blooded, Ryo is not of impressive musculature. He's lanky and slender, but probably wouldn't be able to bench press the weight of a vehicle to save his life. He has a smooth face, meek and lacking confidence in his half-lidded eyes and resting mouth. His hair resembles that of his biological father, but the vertical point sways slightly to the left and flares out rather than pointing up. Over the left side of his face, his spiking hair falls limp as bangs over his eyes. The right side of his face maintains half of that strong widow's peak.
Ryo's arms and legs are littered with tattoos. While he's a bit young to have them, Ryo's lonely childhood forced him out to make friends in the ink world. Ryo's tattoos are graphic, mainly consisting of black and white shaded dragons wrapping around his arms and various symbols inked in with the image. The only color in Ryo's tattoos is an image of a flower on his shoulder.
Ryo's clothing is both deceptive and loose. Ryo's base clothing consists of a black tanktop over a gray wifebeater and a pair of loose, black cargo shorts. On his feet are black running flats. Over his tanktop, Ryo wears a white, sleeveless sweatshirt hoodie, normally with the hoodie up. Ryo also has a long brown tail, that's often seen hanging loosely behind him.
Likes: Freerunning, climbing, industrial metal music, playing his guitar, Mongolian beef and rice.
Dislikes: Capsule Corp, processed food, being abandoned.
Over all: Ryo is a young man of many issues. Being an adopted child, Ryo has felt abandoned ever since he found out about it. Ryo is typically a quiet guy. He's sullen and doesn't normally speak until spoken to. While he is silent, he doesn't give off a cold or aloof disposition. Ryo has a very warm presence and usually greets others with the same warmth he emanates. Ryo may be calm most of the time, but he has a lot of psychological issues. He has abandonment issues and feelings of worthlessness pent up inside him. Ryo usually keeps his issues inside, and tends keep up his gentle nature to hide it.
When it comes to serious situations that Ryo can handle, Ryo is quick and quiet. He gives orders in a somewhat less than hesitant fashion, but is more pleading than forceful with the directions he might have to give. In situations that are out of Ryo's control, Ryo is panicky and hesitant, not knowing what to do other than what he knows best: Run and hide until the coast is clear.
- Adopted Mother - Anita Grell
- Adopted Father - Thomas Grell
- Biological Mother - Unknown
- Biological Father - Vegeta
Attacks: None. Ryo's Ki is LOCKED.
Oozaru, when the moon is out.
- Abandonment - Ryo has issues of abandonment, thanks to being left by his mother on the doorstep of his adopted parents. This leads to feelings of worthlessness, and a generally low self-esteem.
- Weak - Ryo is physically weak compared to his Saiyan counterparts, both full-blooded and half-blooded alike. Due to his upbringing, Ryo didn't undergo the intense training his counterparts had.
- High Stamina - Ryo can run and climb for long periods of time without tiring out.
- Resourceful - Ryo can figure out a route within a split second of finding himself in a bind.
Ryo was born more or less a child of questionable consent and in a different Timeline than the current one. Whatever it is that happened between Prince Vegeta and Ryo's mother, it wasn't an affair that would last for long. The woman, unable to take care of her new baby boy, left Ryo on the porch of a middle-aged and well-to-do couple, burrito-wrapped in a basket with a small violet lily on his chest. Anita Grell opened the door to the sound of a crying child. She picked up the baby and took him in as her own. Living with her husband Thomas, the couple were childless, and decided to adopt him as their own. They named him Ryo.
Ryo had a somewhat normal childhood, but with the added torment of being different from other children. His hair was strange, he was unrealistically strong for a child, and he had a long winding tail with thick brown fur. Little Ryo was timid and feared other children, as their curiosity often pushed them to grab onto his tail and pull it, causing him extreme pain and discomfort. Ryo tended to stick close to his mother, but was shown the magic of running by his father. When Ryo was young, Thomas took the boy out running, noting his incredible strength and stamina, as a hopes of wearing out his energy. Ryo turned this into a hobby, seeing no other way to release it, and soon became a freerunner as early as 13 years old.
When Ryo was around 9 years of age, the trouble with Majin Buu started, he and his parents were both killed on the day of the mass genocide produced by Buu on top of Kami's tower, but were wished back thanks to Vegeta and the Namekian Dragonballs. It was after around that time when Ryo was introduced to music. Anita, being a young musician herself, taught him piano, and bought him a guitar to practice and play. Ryo took to his guitar after running every day, leaving the piano where it was and practicing his string plucks.
When he was about 14, Anita broke the news to Ryo that he was adopted. Unable to accept it, Ryo fled home with his guitar and was gone for a week. He was found by the local authorities, and was reunited with his parents. Being gone for that long resulted in Ryo's getting sick, and he was kept out of school for an entire week following his return home. Since Ryo's parents told him he was adopted, Ryo began to grow distant of them, usually doing his homework once he got home and quietly playing his guitar. He would soon start to leave home with his guitar, and got a job at 16 years old to keep himself away from home. Once he scrounged enough money, Ryo abandoned his acoustic guitar for an electric guitar, and over the next 3 years, got tattoos along his arms and legs.
On one of Ryo's many running adventures, he came across Capsule Corp and watched them from afar. The man with tall spiking hair, similar to his own, seemed familiar to him, and seeing him with his wife and two kids instilled within Ryo a deep feeling of resentment and jealousy. One of the company's most prized capsule was the Time Machine, and Ryo, with a bit of luck and timing, uplifted one from the purse of a client, and with his guitar, he used the time machine to zip to the current timeline.
Ryo had no idea what he just did. He was in a panic, even, the anxiety of it all swirling within the pit of his stomach. He shuddered when he hid in the alleyway, only somewhat protected by the heavy rainfall that drenched the usually bright metropolis of West City. He looked at the small capsule in the palm of his hand. His heart raced. He had never pickpocketed before, and it made him anxious. Slipping it into the pouch of his hoodie, Ryo flipped the hood over his head, hiding his hair and face before wall-running up the side of one of the buildings of the alleyway, and grabbing onto the edge of the fire escape. Hauling himself up, he ran his way up to the roof before activating the capsule.
He marveled at the machine that appeared out from the cloud of smoke. He didn't think such technology could even exist, but his cold thoughts ran from Capsule Corp to the heartfelt apology of leaving his adopted parents behind, "I'm sorry... I don't really belong here." He climbed in and looked at all the buttons. He wasn't all that tech-savvy, but he at least had half a mind to try the switches that looked obvious. When the machine started up, he tensed up a little, grabbing onto anything he could. Before he knew it, everything around him warped and the machine lifted up into the sky, blasting off and disappearing with a spark of electricity.
When he landed, he was in a different area altogether. It was grassy, and quiet, not a soul to be found anywhere. Ryo struggled out of the machine, guitar strapped to his back, and he landed shakily on his feet before dropping to his knees. "..I will never do that again..." he said quietly to himself before standing up and looking around. He nervously approached the time machine and pressed a button on the side, sending it back into its small capsule form before putting it into his pocket. "I guess I shouldn't stay here for long... Probably best to find out where I am."
